All right, we’re out in Middleburg today. This client called us because there was a previous contractor here that had done about half the bathroom and there were some clear workmanship issues going on. And so we came in, completely gutted the whole bathroom, restarted straight from scratch. It is an older house. And so there were some structural things that we needed to reinforce, new plywood all the way underneath.
This bathroom, actually the toilet and the vanity were positioned differently. They were actually, the vanity was over here and the toilet was over here. So we swapped them to make the flow a little bit better in this bathroom. Redid all the plumbing underneath here, brand new PVC and made sure it all worked absolutely perfect.
One of the key features of this bathroom is these large 48″ x 111″ Onyx Azul / Blue Onyx porcelain tiles, People that don’t like grout lines, these four foot by nine foot tiles are the way to go. It’s expensive and the cuts have to be very precise, but as long as you take the time and you’re very, very precise with everything, then it can turn out absolutely beautiful. Again, with all of our bathrooms, we match the back of the niche with the shower floor.
We went with the linear drain and then gold, all the accessories and all the trim, all the Schluter edges is all gold. The blue and the gold are great complimentary colors that turn out absolutely beautiful. And then kept with the same design on the floor. You can see we went with really large tiles just to limit the amount of grout lines there were. The duct work was running underneath. So we had to change the location of that so that it fit with the bathroom. A lot of stuff we ended up changing and running new lines, older wiring. We ran new lines for the mirror.
And so, um, yeah, just, I love how this bathroom turned out. I’d love to do something like this for you.
