We just wrapped up another bathroom in the Historic District of Springfield, and this one was a really fun project.
Like most older homes, we expected to find some wood decay, and sure enough we did. Because we anticipated it, we were able to address it right away and move forward without delays.
One of the main goals was to brighten up the space. The bathroom was very dark before, so we replaced a full wall with a pony wall to open everything up. That change allows natural light from the window to fill the room and makes a huge difference.
The homeowner picked out most of the finishes, and the black-and-white design turned out great. The black fixtures really pop, and the layout is practical, with the valve positioned so you can turn the shower on without getting wet.
The glass was just installed and it’s thick, solid, and built to last. We also reinforced the floor using Schluter underlayment and a decoupling membrane, ensuring it’s strong and won’t crack.
This is the kind of quality work we take pride in. If you’d like a bathroom like this, give Legacy Renovations a call.
